FAQs
What is Mashru silk and how is it different from pure silk?
Mashru is a blend of silk (on the outer surface) and cotton (on the inner side), giving you silk’s elegance outside and a softer, more breathable feel against skin.
Is Mashru suitable for long wear or warm weather?
Yes. Because of the cotton lining, Mashru Silk has better air flow; it tends to be more comfortable in warm or semi-humid conditions than dense pure silk fabrics.
Can I use a Mashru Banarasi saree for weddings or formal events?
Absolutely. Many designs in this collection use traditional motifs and rich colours, so they are well suited for weddings, receptions, festive nights, and other formal occasions.
How should I care for a Mashru silk saree?
Dry clean is best. If you wash, use a very gentle hand wash in cold water, avoid wringing, dry in shade, and store away from direct sunlight to keep the colours and fabric strength intact.
Does each saree come with a blouse piece, and what are the usual lengths?
Yes—each Mashru Silk Banarasi saree in our collection includes a matching blouse piece. Lengths are standard (usually around 5.5 metres) unless otherwise specified; blouse piece is typically ~0.80 metres.
